Hey Friends!  I’m glad you’ve stopped by.  And, I am super excited that you are interested in taking your photography to the next level.  I LOVE this crazy career and truly believe that being a photographer is one of the greatest honors of my life.  The connections made with people and the trust that our clients give to us is a gift.  With over 14 years of personal practice, 200+ weddings, 900+ portrait sessions, national travel, and multiple publications, I understand the detail of work and dedication it takes to power any small business and the importance of separating one’s self by personal brand and style.

We are all starting from a different place in our journey toward awesomeness.  For that reason, I have put together mentoring programs that focus on some of the most integral parts of what we do.  But, I have also curated an in-depth 6-month dive into all of the details of what works (and, what doesn’t) when growing a photography business.

Cause a Scene was born out of the want to continue to create fun content, serve our wedding clientele, and be among others that bring sunshine where they go. In moments of self-reflection, we found that this world of pandemic isolation and movements on grand scale left many of us feeling that we needed to re-evaluate how we live and do business.

week 1::

Let’s Meet!  Our first meeting is super fun, laid back, but not lacking in detail.  We will meet over coffee, you pick the place and breakfast is on me.  We will spend this meeting face to face reviewing your artistic and business goals.  Together we will spend about an hour diving into the different photography genres, your experiences, and outlining the goals of your profession and business.  This meeting will create the outline of how we move forward over the following 6 months.  Get excited!

week 2-3::

Let’s Chat Business.  Join me on my stomping grounds for a tour of my studio and property and a quick lunch.  During these two 3 hour meetings we will dissect business strategy, divide what is and isn’t working for you currently, and build a solid Thrive Business Plan that includes Workflow, Pricing Structure, Getting Published, and Money Management.

week 4-5::

Building a Brand.  You guys!  This was a huge piece of my business that was holding me back for years!  Building a recognizable YOU brand is the most important business move you will make.  Think of your brand as the face to every human that you make contact with.  You need to love it.  Setting aside about 2 hours for these two meetings, we will meet in my studio office to cover an in-depth review of your current website and online presence.  We can build on what you have or start from scratch.  But the End Game for The Thrive Program’s Meeting Three is a Thoughtful and Cohesive Brand that you are proud to go shout from the Mountain Tops…”Hi World!  This is ME!”

week 6::

Speaking of “Hi World!,” Social Media deserves its own full focused meeting.  Bring your game face, friends!  Part 1::  Tackle the major social media platforms and discuss which platforms with which you will best engage and why.  Part 2:: Translating your brand to social media, making connections via social media, and how to write content that speaks.  Part 3::  Building Content- Together we will put create a 3 month social media content plan- hoorah!

week 7-11::

Pencils down, Please!  That business stuff is SO important.  In fact, nobody can be successful without a grip on the business of business.  Right?!  But, let’s get active for a bit.  Now comes the hands-on camera work. 5 fun weeks of posing, on and off camera lighting, curating, and editing.  You will be hands-on in learning technique and building your own personal style and skill in and around the Westland Farm Studio and Property.  There will be weekly assignments (don’t sigh…I promise, they are fun!) with follow-up critique and help with me.  These are the weeks that we will begin to take your photography to the next levels.

week 12::

Remember that 3 month Social Media Content Plan?  (Week 6)  I will style an editorial photography session that is all yours.  2 Hour Editorial Session, One on One Editing, and Critique.  Get ready for some Brand Specific Content Building.

week 13::

Now it is my turn behind the camera!  For week 13 we will set aside a full hour to capture your professional head shots and personal branding material.  Please bring 3 choices in wardrobe, your camera equipment, a hat, your laptop, and two of your favorite objects.  Need help deciding what to wear or bring?  I’m standing by to make choices a little narrower.  I will edit and return some fun, brand aware, personal content for you to use however you choose.

final project ::

You have one more exciting project before we take a little breather from our weekly meetings.  Are you ready?  If you’re not today, you will be by week 14 of the Thrive Program.  You will shadow and photograph as my assistant a session of your choice.  Choose from a live Wedding, Newborn Session, Family Portraits, Boudoir, or a Senior Session to put your new workflow and hard work into full- swing action.  We will follow-up this project with a one-to-one look into your images, curating, and editing before you head off to invest your hard work into your clients’ lives.

completion & wrap-up ::

Friends!  You’ve had 14 weeks of in-depth evaluation, work, and experience.  You’re feeling so much more confidant.  You’re rocking the brand you’ve put into place and you’ve got a perspective on finances and what your workflow needs to look like.  Your pricing and marketing campaigns have life and your social media accounts are pulling in new followers.  Yes!!  So, now let’s take it to your clients.  For the next 10 weeks you will take your new knowledge to your paying customers and we will stay in touch with a weekly call and open communication.  At the six month point, we will schedule one final one-to-one meeting.  At this 2 hour meeting we will re-evaluate your work, address challenges you are encountering, and answer any lingering questions. 

From here, my cell number is always yours for a text or call.  Our 6 months is over, but your growth and my support is still along your side.
